Merry Christmas To Everyone And Thank you

Merry Christmas To Everyone And Thank you

Merry Christmas, I hope you all enjoy the festive season and 2018 will be a great year for all of you. Reflecting on 2017, personally, it’s been a year of highs and lows, culminating in my complete change of life style.

As I’ve moved into darkest, deepest Wales, I decided that we should have a real Christmas tree for a change. Around these parts there are plenty of sellers all over the place. From huge 30 foot plus monsters to tiny small table top trees.

Norwegian Pine

Because I only have a small car meant it determined what size of Christmas tree I could purchase. One step up from table top. Wifey had given me strict orders to buy a ‘Norwegian Pine’ whatever that means. Apparently, these type of trees retain their needles. Hmmmmmmm. When or how they retain their needles, I haven’t a clue, but it isn’t when they travel!

The lady wrapped my tree in one of those nets which scrunched it up to half its open size. I paid her, wished her Merry Christmas and lay the poor thing down on the back seat of my car. Time to set off home, which during the past few weeks usually ends taking a wrong turning and heading in the opposite direction! I diverse.

When I Got Home

Fortunately, I was home within an hour and it was dark. Unloading the tree from the car took about 5 minutes in all. However, the tree I brought home resembled little to the tree I purchased from the seller. It seems 90% of the needles are on the rear carpet of my car!! I feel so stupid. In the cold light of day, you can see a trail from my house to the car made up of pine needles. Even the netting had become a baggy mess.

This is the first and probably last time I have bought a real Christmas tree. Next year I’ll be buying an artificial one from the likes of Woolworths, oh, hang on, they’re no longer are they? Anyway, I know I’m looking forward to a very happy Christmas and I hope you are too. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. See you on the flip side.

We’ve had a real tree before. They smell nice. They do shed a lot of needles and require a lot of water. This year it is a no fuss artificial tree. Have a wonderful Christmas and a great 2018.

Merry Christmas Trev! Sorry to hear about your needles. I once heard a story about a man who brought home needleless tree with a gun cartridge hanging on it. His wife asked ‘What’s this?!’ He said ‘It’s a cartridge in a bare tree!’
