I Gone Done It

I Gone Done It!

WhooHoo

Well here’s a thing, I have finally managed to update my Silly Old Sod blog, I gone and done it and all by myself. I never lost a single post or picture. It’s not easy at my age, changing all this technological stuff around and I had no help at all, not that I wanted any as I would have been pretty miserable company. Ok, take the pretty away and leave the miserable company.

Stop Over Explaining!

It’s taken me some time, hence all the big gaps in between posting. I will tell you what too, there’s a lot of technical stuff that has some easy answers, but finding some of them is nearly impossible. The other thing I have learned during this giant update is that technical people, ‘whizz kids’ tend to explain something simple in such a complicated way. It sounds complicated, they make it complicated, yet when you break it down, it’s easy.

Example

If I need to switch on a light I go to the wall and press the switch, unless you have Alexa and you can ask her to do it. Using the analogy that it’s complicated someone on the internet will describe it as such: ‘Make sure the connection of the switch is in the off position, then alter the state of that by making the switch connection to a positive, enabling the source of the power to pass and transfer the energy to the lamp.’ You get the idea of what I’m saying. JUST PRESS THE SWITCH! That’s all you need to say. A lot of people are bothered by technology because they think it’s complicated, but honestly, the whizz kids make it sound like that.

Do You Like It?

Blowing my own trumpet, I am pleased with the new blog. I hope everyone likes it, but if you don’t, I don’t care because I am a grumpy old sod and that’s all there is to it. However, many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read, join in and leave a reply. You all know I’m not really a cantankerous old sod. See you around.

If you would like an interesting article on updating your blog, here’s an easy peasy guide.

  1. Well done Trev. You are absolutely right about technology. It’s a wonderful thing if only they gave you a moment to keep up! And some simple instructions!

  2. Well done. I admire you. I am now 78 years old and have always done my best to keep up with the computer world, but now I am glad when no new developments arrive, although I know that is wishful thinking. I am now alone at home, no more Mr. Swiss – he is now in a golden oldie home since four years, and I only have my computer guy I could ask. He is a very nice person, but naturally he does not do it as a favour.

    1. Oh sorry to hear about Mr Swiss. Things do get very complicated and yet they are meant to make life easier! Thank you for replying, good luck with your computer. 😊

  3. Nice! I redid mine recently too, and even with my expertise it took a while to get it just as I like it. You did great!

    1. Thank you, Velda. It’s all one big learning curve and great fun too, except when it goes wrong. 😊

  4. It is so lovely to hear you again and congratulations to stick with the problems.
I have problems to and will use the recommended site to see if I get it to work.

      1. How strange, there seems to be a glitch in the matrix here where Mitch posted this comment as me. Not sure how that’s happened…however, bravo from me to Trev! πŸ˜ŠπŸ–€
