I realised this morning that it’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted a blog.
I’ve Been Busy
I’ve been very busy in the garden and around the house, so it’s not like I’ve been sat on my backside. There was nothing I could find to blog about, no funny stories, no serious stories, nothing, which is unusual for me. So, I’ve sat down (again) and I’m just writing and see what comes about. We’ve just finished our tea and in the field opposite, there was a Deer. Quite amazing to see one so close to the house. It makes a change from the mice.
Roses
Last summer and part of this year I have managed to replace the fencing in the garden. The whole lot. At the front, I built a small picket fence with an archway and gate at the end. All painted and looking ship shape and Bristol fashion if I say so myself, we have treated ourselves to a couple of climbing roses. One’s a peach coloured one while the other is more yellow or is it pink? I can’t remember and it’s too dark to go out there now and check which one it is.
Colours
I’ve just checked on the supplier’s website and it’s pink! I so wanted it to be yellow so I could have a go at the weekly prompts which is ‘Sunshine Yellow’ this week. Peach isn’t to far from yellow so I hope it will do. Anyway, the roses are settling in very nice and are starting to make their way up the arch and along the fence, well, the peach one is. The pink one is at the other end of the fence and the plan is to grow it up part of the fence and next doors lovely tree which overhangs our garden.
Donovan
As this should be a post about the colour yellow, I have had a song in my head all day which is called ‘Colours’ and it’s by Donovan. The first line starts off with the words, ‘Yellow is the colour of my true love’s hair, in the morning…’ A happy little summer song indeed. I hope everyone is staying safe and keeping well despite all that is going on at this time.

Trev…is this the same Donovan from long ago….the one whose guitar music I liked? I’ve never been able to find recordings from back then…1963?
