This Killer Boogie

Every morning after I have started my day, showered, made a cup of tea, set the fire if it’s cold, is to sit down and watch a short video called ‘This Killer Boogie‘ by Rock That Swing. I’ve become obsessed with this clip, I find it so addictive and it sets me up for a great day ahead.

I’m On Fire!

I think I’m probably a little jealous of the talent involved in this dance. The timing, the movement and the whole feel-good factor are just great. I’m too old now to dance anywhere near the speed of these guys and if the truth is known, even when I was younger, I would look like someone had set me on fire had I tried to dance like this.

Happy Faces

Look at all those smiley faces and it’s obvious the best of the dancers are centre front, but even the ones that aren’t quite as sharp with their timing and movement are still having a ball of a time by the look on their faces. I haven’t a clue how they remember all those moves either. It’s really quite amazing.

Feelgood Factor

My hope is, that especially at this time with all the bad news and sadness in the world is that you will find some fun and enjoyment watching this clip. It doesn’t matter how much I may feel down, I watch this and for a few minutes in the day, my world is complete. I think we must all have a ‘go to’ thought, photograph, piece of music or memory that brightens up our day. Well, this is mine.

As always, I love to read your comments and if you have something that brightens your day, please include it in the comments. Stay safe.

  1. Brilliant, Trev! What a great exercise routine! I always wonder how different dance routines get started. This one is a great way to shed anxiety and all that negative stuff. Thanks!

  2. I agree! A great way to start the day! I would have enjoyed one dancer who was that enthusiastic and skillful, but a crowd of them is 100 times better. It’s not just the dancing ability…it’s that everyone learned the same thing and are participating — peacefully, joyfully — in a shared coming-together! I also love seeing so many men dance — uninhibitedly and together — because some of us have been socialized to think/feel that dancing is not OK.Thank you for sharing this video experience with the rest of us!

    1. Thank you, Luisa. I would love to join them, but I doubt I would remember half of the routine as well as keep up the physical part. 😊

    1. Thanks, Peter, yes, the ones that seem to have it more coordinated are around the middle while the others who are maybe less experienced seem to be around the outside. 😊

  3. That was so much fun to watch, Trev 😀 I enjoyed dancing in my younger days. These days, I’d probably get a stroke trying to keep up with the pace of the Boogie. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  4. Woooow look at all those legs, like Mr Tickle’s arms going all over the place. I’m a wee bit jealous of their energy, wish I had just an ounce of that. I love how upbeat and energetic and cheery it is – I can see why it’s your go-to.

  5. Trev! Trev! You are never to old at our age. I have a movie “Dancing Queens”, made in the Swedish archipelago that makes me very happy, fun to watch, puts a smile on my face. A young dancer with giant aspirations, she end up helping out “Dancing Queens” drag club & you have to watch the movie.
“Dancing Queens” movie is on Netflix.

I'd love to hear from you
