Prince Keith

Happy 70th birthday greetings to Prince Charles. Most of us are long retired by now, but Charles hasn’t even started his career yet as the King! I think I might know why he’s been putting it off for so long, as I wrote here over 2 years ago.

Is it me or has anyone else noticed the similarity between Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones and Prince Charles? As they both grow older, the similarity seems to be more pronounced. Yet, their lives could not have been more opposite to each other. Prince Keith has a ring to it.

There’s just over 5 years difference in age between the two, with Prince Keith er, Keith Richards being the elder. They both have a love of music, albeit at different ends of the scale, and both can play instruments. Their voices are so similar too. Well, in my opinion, they are. Keith Richards has that almost posh, drawn-out very English accent, not unlike Prince Charles.

In my mind, I can see Keith Richards portraying royalty, mingling among them as one of their own. However, I just can’t visualise Prince Charles on stage with The Rolling Stones! He just wouldn’t cut it, the moves, the bandana or even the cigarette hanging out of the side of his mouth.

Charles and Keith

I can’t be sure, but I think they share the same star sign, if you believe this kind of thing, so there could be astral similarities. While the Stones still continue touring the world, as I write they are appearing in South America, Prince Charles is carrying out his royal duties with both of them showing no signs of retiring just yet. I wouldn’t mind if Keith was next in line to the throne, I think he would make an excellent King.

I'd love to hear from you

Thank you Jacqueline, and I think as they grow older they also sound alike.

Funny, irreverent (I am glad to see) stuff – separated at birth (well, a long time between twins)… I also like the symmetry that Private Eye calls The Duke of Edinburgh ‘Keith’.

I missed this post! No idea how unless I was still on my break.
Well, I can’t see a similarity but I do love what you’ve done here.

Thank you, Sue. To me, especially now they’re both older and Keith seems a lot cleaner, the sounds of their voices seem like they could be brothers.
