Worm Moon

There’s a full moon today, March 9th, 2020 known as a Worm Moon. The Native Americans gave it the name, Worm Moon after the worm trails that would appear in the newly thawed ground. For me though, it’s a hairy experience!

Howling

It is known as other names which include Chaste Moon, Death Moon, Crust Moon, and Sap Moon. The Death Moon seems a little scary to me, but then again, any full moon always has some effect on me and others. You can see in the photograph what happened to me when there was a ‘Wolf Moon’ back in January. I can tell you, it’s not a nice experience! It takes forever to get over it and who knows what shenanigans happen while I’m howling and scowling about the place like a demented Wolf.

Shot By Sheep Farmers

Hopefully, none of my neighbours have ever seen me in this state and never will. I’d probably be shot by the sheep farmers around here. So why does the full moon affect so many people in strange ways? I have no idea except to say that I believe it has the power to alter the tides and river flows around the world. As we are 75% water, surely, it must have some effect on us. It’s way beyond my simple comprehension of how and why things work to offer any sort of sensible explanation.

Jekyl and Hyde

I shall be locked in my cage from about 4:00 pm and remain there until I’m back to normal. Another night of rough hair and long nails together with the big teeth. Come to think of it, that sounds like most nights! My poor wife will have to put up with more howling, scowling and growling. Yes, definitely seems like a normal night in our house. At least she gets to watch what she wants on the T.V. probably one of the Jekyll and Hyde movies.

Howllllllllll

Ok, I just want to point out that none of this story has any truth to it. I made it all up as there is a full moon this evening, but I have no real scientific knowledge about them. The photograph is one I codged together in Photoshop, it’s not really me morphing from a nice human being into a scary old wolf. As always, I hope you enjoyed the story and if it made you smile, then I’ve been successful. Thank you and have a nice day.

Here’s an interesting website that explains about the ‘Worm Moon.’
